WESTON – Marshfield only won three of the 11 races but came out on top in the team scoring in an 89-81 win over D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swimming dual meet Thursday at D.C. Everest High School.
Zach Kayhart won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:16.88, Joshua Peters was first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.87, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Simon Dagit, Carson Klumb, Kayhart and Kevin Buth won in 11:37.27 for the Tigers, who are now 2-1 in WVC meets this season.
Marshfield’s depth led it to the victory as the Tigers placed second and third in six events.
Marshfield will compete at the Rhinelander Invitational on Saturday.
