MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield wrestling team opened its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet season with a 45-21 win over D.C. Everest on Thursday at Marshfield High School.
The Tigers won four matches by pin, another by forfeit and one by technical fall on the way to the home victory.
Easton Ledden (150 pounds), Micah Bremer (103), Carter Williquette (120) and Jon Sternweis (132) each won by pin, and Erika Sleznikow added an 18-0 technical fall win at 126 pounds for Marshfield.
Grayden Rode added a 10-1 major decision win at 165, Haiden Carlson won in overtime 7-4 over Blake Bangtson at 175, and Bob Shearer added a 6-1 win at 285 for Marshfield.
Marshfield will compete at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational on Saturday.
