STRATFORD – Stratford used a dominant second half to finish off a 57-17 rout of Athens in a Marawood Conference girls basketball crossover game Friday at Stratford High School.
The Tigers led 21-10 at halftime before blowing the game wide open with a 36-7 run in the second half, holding Athens (1-5, 1-4 Marawood North) to just two made baskets over the final 18 minutes as Stratford remains undefeated this season at 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the Marawood South.
Stratford dominated inside, with forwards Emily Zuelke and Tria Tubbs finished with 15 and 12 points, respectively, on a combined 13-for-24 shooting. The rest of the Tigers were just 12-for-46 from the field.
Stratford hosts Auburndale on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
