AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 48-38 win over Phillips in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale led 24-18 at halftime and made nine of 11 free throws in the second half to hold on for the win and improve to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Marawood Conference South Division.
Eight different Eagles scored in the win, with Rose Hasenohrl leading the way with 10 points. Chesney Nagel added nine and Oriah Harris eight for Auburndale.
Mataya Eckert topped Phillips (4-2, 3-2 Marawood North) with 23 points.
Auburndale plays at Stratford in a Marawood South game on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
