Marshfield girls basketball pulls past D.C. Everest

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team overcame a sluggish first half and defeated D.C. Everest 47-36 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers led 14-13 at halftime before opening up the offense and outscoring D.C. Everest by 10 over the final 18 minutes to pull away for their second-straight win.

Zaida Kolbeck scored 21 points, and McKenzie Holm and Hailey Klumb each added 10, with Klumb finishing with a team-best eight rebounds in the win for Marshfield (2-2, 2-0 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Grace Sandquist led D.C. Everest (3-3, 1-1 WVC) with nine points.

Marshfield will host Holmen for a nonconference game Tuesday.
