MEQUON – The Wisconsin Valley Union girls hockey team was held to 14 shots on goal and was shut out by the Lakeshore Lightning 3-0 in its Eastern Shores Conference opener Saturday at the Ozaukee Ice Arena.

Erin Brezovar scored twice and Aalyiah Lathrop added the capper for the Lightning (6-0-1, 2-0 Eastern Shores).

Issie Wojcik made 29 saves in goal for Wisconsin Valley (3-2 overall), which was outshot 32-14 in the loss.

Wisconsin Valley Union will play at Hartland Arrowhead for another conference game on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
