Auburndale boys basketball pulls past Newman Catholic to remain undefeated

AUBURNDALE – Blake Raab was an efficient 9-for-11 and scored a game-high 19 points as the Auburndale boys basketball team kept its perfect record intact with a 55-42 win over Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at Auburndale High School.

Keegan Empey added 13 points, and Thomas Aue had eight points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, who are now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Marawood South this season.

Auburndale shot 56 percent (22-for-39) in the victory.

Lucas Pfiffner had 14 points for Newman Catholic (1-6, 0-3 Marawood South).

Both teams will play Marawood South games on Friday as Newman Catholic hosts Marathon and Auburndale travels to Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
