Marshfield boys hockey downs Northland Pines

MARSHFIELD – Wyatt Fischer scored twice in the second period to lead the Marshfield boys hockey team to a 3-1 nonconference win over Northland Pines on Tuesday at the Marshfield Area Ice Arena.

Jack Mattila scored early in the first period for the Tigers before Northland Pines tied it.

Fischer’s two goals, off assists from Owen Hoerneman and Cole Kenney, were enough to push the Tigers (3-6) to the win.

Marshfield goalie Neil Mullins had 15 saves in the win.

Marshfield will look for its first Wisconsin Valley Conference win at home Thursday against Wisconsin Rapids.
