AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team wasted no time blowing past Northland Lutheran on Friday night.
The Apaches outscored Northland 15-4 in the first quarter and led 29-6 at halftime as they cruised to a 56-23 win in a Marawood Conference South Division game at Auburndale High School.
Liz Breu had 19 points and six rebounds to lead Auburndale, which improves to 12-2 overall and 7-1 in the Marawood South after winning its third straight game. Northland Lutheran drops to 2-10 and 1-7 in the conference.
Lindsay Gotz added 13 points on 6 of 9 shooting for the Apaches.
Auburndale plays at Phillips on Monday and at Edgar on Thursday.
