ALMOND – Almond-Bancroft blew open a close game with a huge second half and defeated Spencer 60-36 in a nonconference boys basketball game Thursday night at Almond-Bancroft High School.
Almond-Bancroft led 27-21 after a competitive first half before outscoring the Rockets 33-15 in the second half and cruising to the victory.
Noah Anderson scored 13 points and Sam Bezlyk added 12 for Spencer, which drops to 6-3 this season.
The Rockets were outrebounded 40-26 and shot just 29 percent (14-for-48) from the field.
Brody Dernbach led Almond-Bancroft (7-2) with 23 points.
Spencer is back in action Friday at home against Cadott as part of a girls-boys doubleheader. The girls game starts at 5:45 p.m., with the boys game to follow at approximately 7:15 p.m.
