Auburndale wrestling takes team title at Shiocton Clausen Duals

SHIOCTON – The Auburndale wrestling team won all four of its matches, including a victory over Slinger in the championship match, to win the Clausen Duals at Shiocton High School on Friday night.

Auburndale defeated Winneconne 65-0, Stevens Point 66-12 and Kiel 57-18 in pool play, then dominated Slinger 43-25 in the championship match at the eight-team tournament.

In the championship match, Colton Weiler (150 pounds), Russell Teska (190), Alex Becker (285) and Carson Weiler (113) earned pins for the Eagles.

Sawyer Kundinger added a 9-0 major decision at 106, Brennen Welch had a 14-10 victory at 132, and Auburndale won two matches by forfeit to earn the win.

Auburndale will compete with Edgar and Stratford at Marathon for a Marawood Conference Quad on Thursday before taking part in the Freedom Invitational on Jan. 11.
