Auburndale, Spencer/Columbus Catholic/Granton each have two top-four finishes at Mauston Girls Wrestling Invite

MAUSTON – Two wrestlers each from Spencer/Columbus Catholic/Granton and Auburndale earned top-four finishes at the Mauston Golden Eagles Girls Wrestling Invitational on Friday night at Mauston High School.

Jasmine Hebert finished third at 138 pounds and Valencia De La Torre was fourth at 132 for Auburndale, while Anna Becker placed second at 235 pounds and Azariah Hoffman took fourth at 145 for the Rockets.

Herbert won her first three matches by pin before losing a semifinal match. She came back to win the third-place match at 138 for Auburndale, pinning Tomah’s Josie Newbury in 1:15.

De La Torre went 3-1 in the round-robin at 132 and lost her third-place match to Adison Clark of Merrill by a 15-0 technical fall.

Becker won her three matches in round-robin competition for Spencer/Columbus Catholic/Granton, all by pin, before suffering a 10-4 loss to Sydney Coyne of Parkview/Albany in the championship match at 235.

Hoffman won three matches by pin, but lost in the semifinals and the third-place match as she was pinned in both in the second period.

Ashley Fitzgerald (126) and Ashlee Northrup (152) each went 0-4 for SCCG.
