WESTON – Stratford had three champions and two runner-up finishes as it placed second at the 16-team Fred Lehrke Wrestling Invitational on Saturday at D.C. Everest High School.
Trenton Cournoyer (27-2) won the 120-pound title, Colin Cournoyer (23-2) was first at 126, and Aaron Knetter (21-8) won the championship at 132 for the Tigers, who finished with 557 points. Weyauwega-Fremont won the team title with 661 points.
Mathias Kaiser took second at 150 and Drew Gage was the runner-up at 285 as well for Stratford.
Spencer/Columbus Catholic/Granton took seventh place in the team standings as the Rockets had four top-four finishes.
Wyatt Karl took second at 215 pounds, Mason Wolf was third at 132, and Hunter Boyd (157) and Teddy Meyer (165) both finished fourth for SCCG.
Spencer/Columbus Catholic/Granton will compete at a Cloverbelt Conference triangular at Abbotsford and Stratford will take part in a Marawood Conference quad at Marathon, both on Thursday.
