STEVENS POINT – Western Wisconsin scored three goals in the second period to create some separation and went on to defeat the Wisconsin Valley Union girls hockey team 5-2 in a nonconference game Saturday at Ice Hawks Arena.
Campbell Spees opened the scoring for Wisconsin Valley before the Stars scored four unanswered goals, two on the power play, to take control.
Molly Fox added a goal in the third period for the Union (5-6).
Wisconsin Valley will host the Fox Cities Stars at the Waupaca Expo Center on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
