Cadott outlasts Spencer boys basketball in shootout

SPENCER – The Spencer boys basketball team dropped its second game in as many days, losing a nonconference matchup to Cadott 71-68 on Friday night at the Spencer Dome.

Cadott (5-3) outscored the Rockets by five in the second half and escaped with the narrow win as it made 12 3-pointers, including five from Cameron Allard, who finished with 18 points.

Braden Schneider led the Hornets with 23 points.

Sam Bezlyk led Spencer (6-4) with 24 points and 17 rebounds.

The Rockets made 11 3-pointers with Weston Nieman, Noah Anderson and Drake Johnson each sending in three from long range.

Spencer will host Owen-Withee in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
