Fox Cities surges past Wisconsin Valley Union girls hockey

WAUPACA – The Fox Cities Stars scored six unanswered goals to pull past the Wisconsin Valley Union 7-2 in an Eastern Shores Conference game Tuesday at the Waupaca Expo Center.

Wisconsin Valley led 2-1 after Lily Cichy scored twice before the Stars (7-5, 1-2 Eastern Shores) stormed ahead, scoring twice in a two-minute span on goals from Kendall Lindemann and Scarlet Pellegrini to take the lead for good.

The Stars poured on four more goals in the first 9½ minutes of the third period to ice the win.

Issie Wojcik finished with 39 saves for Wisconsin Valley (5-7, 1-3 Eastern Shores).

Teagan Wilkins had 17 saves in goal for Fox Cities.

Both teams will play nonconference games on Friday as Wisconsin Valley travels to Hayward and Fox Cities hosts Black River Falls.
