SPENCER – Gilman broke open a tight game with a huge second-half advantage and defeated Spencer 53-32 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Thursday at the Spencer Dome.
Gilman led 18-15 at halftime before doubling up Spencer in the second half, 35-17, to win going away.
Kayleigh James finished with a game-high 15 points for the Pirates (7-5, 3-3 Cloverbelt East).
Spencer was held to just 11 made field goals in the loss as it falls to 7-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Autumn Davis led the Rockets with 10 points.
Spencer is back in action at first-place Neillsville on Tuesday.
