PARK FALLS – The Auburndale boys basketball team knocked down nine 3-pointers on its way to its fifth-straight win, a 59-42 victory over Chequamegon in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Chequamegon High School.
The Eagles jumped out to a 29-20 lead by halftime and outscoring Chequamegon (3-8, 1-5 Marawood North) by eight in the second half to finish off the victory.
Blake Raab had three 3-pointers and a game-high 23 points, and Peyton Weinfurter drilled four 3s and finished with 15 points for Auburndale (10-1, 5-1 Marawood South).
Auburndale will travel to Marathon for a big Marawood South game on Tuesday and hosts Stratford next Friday. Auburndale, Marathon and Stratford are all 5-1 and tied for first place in the conference standings.
