GREENWOOD – The Spencer boys basketball team erupted for a 50-point first half and went on to pound Greenwood 86-25 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Greenwood High School.

The Rockets (8-4, 2-2 Cloverbelt East) held Greenwood to just eight made baskets while shooting a crisp 51 percent from the field, going 38-for-74.

Sam Bezlyk finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds, and Mathers McHone poured in 21 points for Spencer.

Keegan Gipe had 12 points and nine rebounds for Greenwood (2-7, 0-4 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer’s next game is Thursday at home against Gilman.
