Lakeland outlasts Marshfield girls basketball

MARSHFIELD – Lakeland opened up a nine-point lead by halftime and held on to defeat Marshfield 60-49 in a nonconference girls basketball game Monday night at Marshfield High School.

University of Wisconsin-Green Bay recruit Kristina Ouimette scored 26 points, hitting six of 10 3-pointers, to lead the Thunderbirds (11-4). Ava Evenhouse chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds in the win.

McKenzie Holm made six of nine 3-pointers and scored 18 points, and Hailey Klumb had 13 points and eight rebounds for Marshfield, which falls to 4-8 after suffering its sixth-straight loss.

Marshfield turns back to its Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule at Wausau West on Tuesday.
