MERRILL – The Marshfield boys basketball team made quick work of Merrill, jumping out a 26-point lead by halftime, and cruised to a 73-34 victory in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Merrill High School.
The win is Marshfield’s fourth in a row as it improves to 8-4 overall and remains perfect in the Wisconsin Valley at 5-0.
Twelve different Tigers scored in the victory as the reserves earned multiple minutes in the second half.
Valin Ramberg scored 16 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting from the field, Brooks Hinson hit four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points, Landon Lee added 11 and Joey Ketterer 10 for the Tigers.
Kory Page led Merrill (7-7, 1-4 WVC) with eight points.
Marshfield will play Waunakee at the Midwest Players Classic at the La Crosse Center on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. before a rematch of last year’s Division 1 sectional final with Neenah at Neenah High School on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
