Marshfield girls basketball dominates Merrill

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team dominated from start to finish, putting up 49 points in the first half on its way to a 78-25 whitewashing of Merrill in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls basketball game Friday night at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers led 49-13 by halftime and cruised to the huge win as they put up a season-high in points and forced 27 turnovers.

Zaida Kolbeck finished with a game-high 19 points, and Kylie Laufenberg had 12 points, and Lauryn Katzenberger had a team-best six rebounds to pace the Tigers, who are now 6-8 overall and 5-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Marshfield will host Chippewa Falls for a nonconference game Monday at 7:15 p.m.
