Columbus Catholic girls basketball hits 10 3s, defeats Spencer

MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic girls basketball team shot 48 percent overall and nailed 10 3-pointers in a 65-41 win over Spencer in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Gracie Wilczek made five 3-pointers and her sister Sophie Wilczek was 3-for-4 from long range to lead the shooting barrage for the Dons (8-6, 4-4 Cloverbelt East).

Gracie Wilczek had a game-high 21 points, Izzy Holz added 15 points and seven rebounds, and Sophie Wilczek finished with 11 points in the win for Columbus Catholic.

Carmen Krause had four 3-pointers and 12 points for Spencer (7-7, 2-6 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer will host Wausau Newman Catholic for a nonconference game on Monday before both play Cloverbelt East games Thursday as Spencer will play Loyal at home and Columbus Catholic travels to first-place Neillsville.
