WAUSAU – The Auburndale girls basketball team held Wausau Newman Catholic to just six made baskets, pulled out to a 26-point lead by halftime, and cruised to a 53-19 win in a Marwood Conference South Division game Thursday at Newman Catholic High School.
Auburndale led 30-4 at halftime and rolled to its eighth-straight win.
Lily Bellanti scored 15 points and Oriah Harris added nine points for the Eagles (13-2, 8-2 Marawood South).
Auburndale hosts Rib Lake for a Marawood crossover game Friday at 7:15 p.m.
