Wisconsin Valley Union girls hockey shuts out Northland Pines

EAGLE RIVER – The Wisconsin Valley Union girls hockey team had a nearly 4-to-1 shot advantage and shut out Northland Pines 6-0 in a nonconference game Thursday at the Eagle River Sports Arena.

Wisconsin Valley outshot Northland Pines 47-11, with goalie Kylin Wright saving all 11 shots to earn the shutout victory.

Caitlin Ryan scored twice in the first period, and Brynn Baneck, Lily Cichy, Kendall Baneck and Jenna Jones added goals for Wisconsin Valley Union (7-10).

Wisconsin Valley will be back in action Friday with an Eastern Shores Conference game at Fond du Lac on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
