WAUSAU – Auburndale senior Colton Weiler kept his undefeated record intact by taking the 157-pound title at the Wausau East Lumberjack Wrestling Invitational on Saturday at Wausau East High School.
Weiler is now 40-0 this season after defeating Carson Kempf of D.C. Everest by technical fall 17-1 and helping Auburndale to a second-place finish in the team standings.
Mineral Point took the team title with 466.5 points, with Auburndale second with 447 and Stratford finished third with 425.5 points.
Carson Weiler (33-7) was second at 113 pounds, Derek Godard (35-6) finished second at 120, Zade Grassel (29-6) was runner-up at 126, Brennen Welch took third at 132 and Alex Becker placed fourth at 285 as well for Auburndale.
Stratford’s Trenton Cournoyer (39-2) won the 120-pound title, beating Godard 7-5 in the finals, Aaron Knetter (33-8) took first at 132, and Carter Lueck (32-1) won at 190 to lead the way for Stratford.
Collin Cournoyer (33-3) finished third at 126, Lucas Forrest took third at 138 and Mathias Kaiser was fourth at 150 for the Tigers.
The Marawood Conference Tournament will be held next Saturday, Feb. 1, at Stratford High School.
