Auburndale boys basketball wins 10th in a row with road win at Wausau Newman Catholic

WAUSAU – Auburndale senior Blake Raab scored half of his team’s points, pouring in 25 in a 50-36 win over Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Tuesday at Newman Catholic High School.

Raab made five 3-pointers and went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line to pace the Eagles, who are now 14-1 overall and 9-1 in the Marawood South after posting their ninth-straight victory.

Auburndale pulled out to a 29-15 lead by halftime and was able to maintain its double-digit lead in the second half.

Quincy Pfender led Newman Catholic (3-12, 2-8 Marawood South) with 15 points.

Auburndale will travel to Amherst for a nonconference game on Friday.

Newman Catholic’s next game is Thursday at home against Tri-County.
