Wisconsin Rapids takes down Marshfield wrestling to claim WVC regular-season title

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids won the first eight matches and went on to defeat Marshfield 60-16 to claim the Wisconsin Valley Conference regular-season wrestling championship.

Wisconsin Rapids ends up 6-0 and Marshfield 5-1 in WVC duals this season.

Earning wins for Marshfield were Aaron Ongna at 175 pounds and Joshuah Taylor at 190 pounds, both by technical fall, and Caleb Dennee by forfeit at 215.

Marshfield will be off until the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament, which will be Saturday, Feb. 8, at Wausau East.
