Stratford girls basketball earns home win over Edgar

STRATFORD – Stratford held Edgar to 12 points in the first half, opened up a double-digit lead by intermission and went on to finish off Edgar 50-35 in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Thursday at Stratford High School.

The Tigers led 27-12 at halftime and cruised to the win, improving to 13-4 overall and 9-2 in the Marawood South.

Carly Pankratz scored 11 points and MyKayla Stueber added 10 for Stratford.

Savannah Koepke topped Edgar (7-13, 3-9 Marawood South) with 11 points.

Stratford will start a string of four-straight road games with a nonconference matchup at Loyal on Tuesday.
