AMHERST – The Auburndale boys basketball team won its 10th-straight game as it pulled away in the second half to defeat Amherst 51-40 in a nonconference game Friday night at Amherst High School.

The game was tied 27-27 at halftime before the Eagles were able to surge ahead, holding Amherst (5-12) to just 13 points during the final 18 minutes.

Amherst committed 29 fouls and Auburndale made just enough free throws, finishing 20-for-36 from the line, to grab the road win and improve to 15-1 this season.

Blake Raab was 10-for-13 at the free throw line and scored a game-high 18 points for the Eagles.

Auburndale will host Wisconsin Rapids Assumption for a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday. Assumption is the only team to defeat the Eagles this season, winning on its home court 48-40 back on Dec. 20.
