MARSHFIELD – Zaida Kolbeck made 11 of 12 free throws and scored a game-high 22 points to lift the Marshfield girls basketball team to a 62-48 nonconference win over Bangor on Friday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield Marauder Gymnasium.
The Tigers doubled up Bangor, the 10th-ranked team in this week’s Wissports.net Division 4 state coaches poll, pulling out to a 26-13 lead by halftime.
Marshfield was able to finish off the win at the free throw line with Kolbeck leading the way. The Tigers finished 19-for-24 at the charity stripe and earned their sixth-straight win to improve to 10-4.
Hailey Klumb added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Emma Ridgway chipped in 10 points in the win for Marshfield.
Anna Fronk topped Bangor (14-3) with 14 points.
Marshfield will play another nonconference game at Baraboo on Tuesday.
