Marshfield wins two titles, Auburndale one at Queen of the Mat Girls Wrestling Tournament

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield’s Ava Gardner and Erika Sleznikow continued their excellent seasons by winning individual titles at the Queen of the Mat Girls Wrestling Tournament on Saturday at Marshfield High School.

Gardner (26-2) won all three of her matches, two by pin, to win the 107-pound title for the Tigers. She won by technical fall over Danika Spets of D.C. Everest 19-3 in the championship match.

Sleznikow continued her unbeaten season as she improves to 24-0 with two pins and a tech fall. She defeated Lydia Hutter of Adams-Friendship 16-0 in the finals.

Auburndale’s Jasmine Hebert (33-11) was the 138-pound champion, earning a 16-0 technical fall win over Abigail Moss of Cadott in the finals.

Valencia de la Torre placed fourth at 132 for Auburndale.

Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards won the team title with 109 points, two more than second-place Janesville Parker.
