PITTSVILLE – Pittsville held Auburndale to 11 points in the first half, opened up a double-digit lead, and went on to a 45-31 victory in a nonconference girls basketball game Monday night at Pittsville High School.
The Panthers led 24-11 at halftime and were able to hold off Auburndale the rest of the way.
Both teams are now 15-4 this season.
Oriah Harris scored eight points and Myah Katzenberger added seven for Auburndale.
Reese Grimm topped Pittsville with 17 points as she made three of the team’s seven 3-pointers.
Auburndale will play a Marawood Conference crossover game at Prentice at Friday at 5:30 p.m.
