STEVENS POINT – The Fox Cities Stars girls hockey team scored four unanswered goals, including three by Evie Mursau in the third period, to defeat Wisconsin Valley Union 4-2 in an Eastern Shores Conference game Thursday at K.B. Willett Ice Arena.
Wisconsin Valley led 2-0 after goals from Jai Dee Menge and Reese Simcakoski before the Stars (13-10, 3-5 ESC) got started.
Kailey Heindel scored with 3:32 left in the second period to put the Stars on the board and Mursau brought them to victory with three goals in the first 12 minutes of the third, while hold Wisconsin Valley Union (7-13, 2-6 ESC) scoreless.
Issie Wojcik finished with 21 saves for Wisconsin Valley.
Wisconsin Valley Union will host Northland Pines on Tuesday at the South Wood County Rec Center in Wisconsin Rapids.
