MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team avenged an early-season loss to Loyal with a dominating 63-22 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division contest Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.
The Dons manhandled Loyal from the start, rolling out to a 35-10 lead by halftime.
Columbus did not let up, outscoring the Greyhounds (14-5, 7-4 Cloverbelt East) by 16 in the second half.
Ben Weiland scored 18 points and Mac Konieczny added 16 in the win for the Dons, who are now 11-7 overall and 7-3 in the Cloverbelt East.
Columbus Catholic will play a nonconference game at Wausau Newman Catholic on Monday.
