MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team held Gilman to 16 percent shooting and picked up a 44-32 win in Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Friday at Columbus Catholic High School.

The win is the Dons’ fifth in a row as they improve to 14-8 overall and finish the Cloverbelt East season at 8-6.

Katelyn Casperson scored 13 points and Gracie Wilczek chipped in nine for the Dons.

Gilman made just 10 of 59 field goal attempts and were 3-for-18 from 3-point range in the loss, falling to 11-11 and 6-8 in the conference.

Columbus Catholic will play a nonconference game at Auburndale on Monday before hosting Bloomer in the fourth-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference Crossovers on Thursday to finish its regular season.

The brackets for the WIAA girls basketball playoffs, which begins on Feb. 25, will be released Sunday.
