Auburndale girls basketball uses 3-point shooting to blow past Columbus Catholic

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team knocked down nine 3-pointers en route to a 54-30 nonconference win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Monday at Auburndale High School.

The Eagles led by eight at halftime before dominating the second half, holding Columbus Catholic to just nine points.

Rose Hasenohrl made three 3-pointers and scored 11 points to lead another balanced attack for Auburndale (19-4). Gracie Hasenohrl, Kylie Anderson and Sidney Wolff each chipped in seven points in the win.

Izzy Holz led Columbus Catholic (14-9) with a game-high 17 points.

Both teams will wrap up their regular-season schedules Thursday as Columbus Catholic hosts Bloomer in a Cloverbelt Conference Crossover game, while Auburndale will try to snag its 20th win of the season with its Marawood South finale at Marathon.
