MERRILL – Marshfield senior Zaida Kolbeck scored a career-high 30 points as the Tigers rolled past Merrill 88-41 in its girls basketball regular-season finale Thursday at Merrill High School.
Kolbeck went 10-for-24 from the field, which included six 3-pointers, for her first career 30-point game.
Marshfield dominated the first half, cruising out to a 51-19 lead by halftime and had little trouble, forcing 27 turnovers and owning a 33-18 rebounding advantage.
McKenzie Holm added 19 points and Hailey Klumb chipped in 11 for the Tigers, who finish the regular season with a 13-11 record and a 9-2 mark in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Click here to view the final WVC girls basketball standings
MacKenzie Ellenbecker hit five 3-pointers and scored a team-high 19 points for Merrill (5-18, 1-10 WVC).
Marshfield will open WIAA postseason play on Friday, Feb. 28, at home against Holmen.
