MARATHON – Auburndale held Marathon to eight points in the first half, opened up a double-digit lead, and cruised to a 43-30 win in the regular-season and Marawood Conference South Division finale for both teams on Thursday night at Marathon High School.
The Eagles led 23-8 after a dominating first half and held on the rest of the way to finish the regular season with a 20-4 record and a 13-3 mark in the Marawood South, which is tied with Stratford for second place. Click here to view the Marawood South girls basketball standings
Kylie Anderson scored 10 points and Myah Katzenberger added eight for Auburndale.
Mylee Haehlke led Marathon (18-6, 10-6 Marawood South) with eight points.
Auburndale will host a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal on Friday, Feb. 28, against the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal between Crivitz and Marion/Tigerton.
