MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic girls basketball team wrapped up its regular season with a come-from-behind 66-60 win over Bloomer in the fourth-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference Crossovers on Thursday at Columbus Catholic High School.
The Dons trailed by four points at halftime before surging ahead with a 10-point advantage over the final 18 minutes to finish the season with a 15-9 record.
Katelyn Casperson scored 19 points, Sophie Wilczek added 16 and Izzy Holz 15 for the Dons, as the trio combined to make 13 3-pointers. Casperson had five, while Holz and Wilczek each had four makes from long range.
Brooke Petska had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Bloomer (13-11).
Columbus Catholic, the No. 6 seed in its half of the Division 5 Sectional 2 bracket, will host No. 11 Tri-County (5-16) on Tuesday in a WIAA regional quarterfinal. The Dons head into the playoffs having won six of their last seven games.
