EDGAR – Blake Raab made all 11 of his free throw attempts and finished with a game-high 26 points as the Auburndale boys basketball team extended its long winning streak with a 67-51 win over Edgar in a Marawood Conference South Division game Friday at Edgar High School.
The Eagles turned a four-point halftime lead into a double-digit win with a 12-point advantage over the final 18 minutes.
Raab, which made three of Auburndale’s six 3-pointers, helped the Eagles win their 16th game in a row.
Thomas Aue had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Peyton Weinfurter chipped in 11 points with a pair of 3-pointers for Auburndale (21-1, 13-1 Marawood South).
The win for Auburndale sets up a showdown with second-place Stratford (20-2, 12-2 Marawood South) on Monday at Stratford. The Eagles can clinch the Marawood South championship with a win.
Leyton Schuett and Kason Ristow both scored 13 points for Edgar (9-12, 6-8 Marawood South). Edgar plays at Marathon on Monday.
