The brackets for the upcoming WIAA state boys basketball playoffs were released on Sunday.
Play begins with regional quarterfinals across five divisions on Tuesday, March 4. Regional semifinals will be played Friday, March 7, with regional finals on Saturday, March 8.
Sectionals will be held Thursday, March 13, and Saturday, March 15, with the 20 sectional champions moving on to the 2025 WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament, which will be held at the Kohl Center in Madison on March 20-22.
All five local teams will host its opening playoff games next week.
In Division 1, Marshfield (17-5) is the No. 2 seed in the Sectional 1 bracket. The Tigers will host a regional semifinal against the winner of a quarterfinal between No. 18 Chippewa Falls (0-22) and No. 15 Appleton East (6-17). Appleton East upset Marshfield in the season opener back in early December.
In Division 4, Auburndale, Stratford and Spencer are all in the top half of the Sectional 2 bracket.
Spencer (14-9) is the No. 6 seed and will play a regional quarterfinal at home against No. 11 Washburn (11-11) on March 4. The winner moves on to a regional semifinal at No. 3 Hurley.
Auburndale (21-1) is the No. 1 seed in the bracket and earned a first-round bye. The Eagles will host the winner of the quarterfinal game between No. 9 Crandon (12-9) and No. 8 Colby (8-13) on March 7.
Stratford (20-2) also has a bye into the second round as the No. 2 seed and will play a regional semifinal at home against the winner of No. 7 Edgar (8-13) and No. 10 Abbotsford (8-16) on March 7.
Defending Division 5 state champion Marshfield Columbus Catholic (15-7) is the No. 2 seed in the top half of the Sectional 3 bracket and earned a bye into the second round. The Dons will host the winner of No. 7 Wisconsin Rapids Assumption (8-14) and No. 10 New Lisbon (9-13) in a regional semifinal March 7.
