Columbus Catholic boys basketball downs Gilman to clinch share of Cloverbelt East title

GILMAN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team clinched a share of the Cloverbelt Conference East Division title with a 65-47 win over Gilman on Monday night at Gilman High School.

The Dons finish in a tie with Owen-Withee for the Cloverbelt East title at 11-3 as they win the conference championship for the second year in a row and ninth time in the last 12 seasons.

Ben Weiland scored 19 points and Mac Konieczny added 17 for Columbus Catholic (16-7 overall).

Columbus Catholic will play in the second-place game at the Cloverbelt Conference Crossovers on Saturday at Stanley-Boyd against Eau Claire Regis at 1 p.m.
