WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield gymnastics team is heading back to state for the first time in four years after finishing second at a Division 2 sectional at Lincoln High School on Friday.
The Galesville-Ettrick-Trempealeau Co-op won the team title with a total score of 136.75, with Marshfield taking second with 135.175 points. The top two teams and top five individuals in each of the four events and the all-around qualify for the 2025 WIAA State Gymnastics Championships next weekend back at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln. Team competition begins at noon on Friday, while the individual state events will begin Saturday at 10 a.m.
Marshfield’s Alyvia Dietsche qualified in two events and the all-around as she heads to state for third year in a row.
Dietsche finished third in the uneven bars with a score of 8.825 and fourth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.375 to qualify in both single events. She will also compete in the vault and balance beam as part of the all-around competition, where she finished fifth at the sectional with a total of 35.025 points.
