Stratford girls basketball staves off Onalaska Luther in WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal

STRATFORD – The Stratford girls basketball team will play for a regional title after holding off Onalaska Luther 54-48 in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal matchup Friday night at Stratford High School.

Stratford made 11 of 16 free throws in the second half to help stave off Luther (19-7), which went just 9-for-20 overall at the free throw line.

Carly Pankratz went 7-for-8 at the line and scored a team-high 17 points, and Tria Tubbs added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers.

No. 4 seed Stratford (20-5) will play a D-4 regional final at No. 1 seed Neillsville (22-3) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
