Marshfield boys basketball finishes off unbeaten WVC title with rout of Wisconsin Rapids

MARSHFIELD – Joey Ketterer scored a career-high 21 points to help the Marshfield boys basketball team finish off an undefeated Wisconsin Valley Conference title with an 84-44 rout of Wisconsin Rapids in the regular-season finale for both teams on Thursday at Marshfield High School.

Chris Pohl added 17 points, Brooks Hinson had 14, and Valin Ramberg and Landon Lee ach scored 11 for the Tigers, who finish the regular season with an 18-6 record and end up 12-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference for the second year in a row.

Hinson was 4-for-4 and Ketterer 3-for-3 from 3-point range in the win for Marshfield.

Gilbertson scored 14 points for Wisconsin Rapids (3-21, 1-11 WVC).

Marshfield will host the winner of Tuesday’s game between Appleton East and Chippewa Falls in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal on Friday, March 7.
