MIDDLETON – Three champions were crowned as 55th WIAA State Boys Hockey Tournament and the 24th WIAA State Girls Hockey Tournament concluded on Saturday, March 8, at Bob Suter’s LEGACY20 Arena.

Tomahawk (25-3) claimed its first-ever state title, taking the Division 2 final over the Amery Co-op 5-3.

Madison Edgewood (23-6), playing in its eighth state tournament, also staked claim to its first championship with a 5-2 win over two-time defending Division 1 champ Green Bay Notre Dame.

The defending girls champion, the Central Wisconsin Storm, was also defeated in its attempt for a repeat, losing 8-0 to the Bay Area Ice Bears (De Pere Co-op) in the girls tournament final. Bay Area also won the title in 2023 and lost the Storm last season.
