SPENCER – Sam Bezlyk had a monster double-double to lead the Spencer boys basketball team to a 79-54 win over Washburn in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal Thursday at the Spencer Dome.
The Rockets (15-10) move on to a D-4 regional semifinal at Hurley (20-4) on Friday at 7 p.m.
Bezlyk finished with 24 points and 21 rebounds to pace Spencer, which outscored Washburn by double-digits in each half to win going away.
Mathers McHone chipped in 18 points and Weston Nieman added 17 in the win for the Rockets.
Brodi Anderson led Washburn (11-13) with 23 points.
