STRATFORD – The Stratford boys basketball team rolled out to a commanding lead by halftime and went on to defeat Edgar 73-52 in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal Friday night at Stratford High School.
The Tigers won for the 12th time in a row and defeated Marawood Conference rival Edgar for third time this season, improving to 23-2 this season.
The No. 2 seed Stratford will host No. 3 Hurley (21-4) for a D-4 regional final at 7 p.m. Saturday with a berth in next week’s sectionals on the line.
Drew Bruesewitz scored 23 points and Brooks Vanderhoof added 15 points, as both hit three 3-pointers, in the victory for Stratford.
The Tigers finished with 10 3-pointers in all.
