Columbus Catholic boys basketball holds off Alma Center Lincoln in WIAA Division 5 regional final

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team is heading back to sectionals again after posting a 50-40 win over Alma Center Lincoln in a WIAA Division 5 regional final Saturday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Mac Konieczny scored 18 points and Carter Sommer added 11 for the Dons, who improve to 18-8 this season.

The No. 2 seed Columbus Catholic, the defending Division 5 state champions, will take on No. 1 seed Cochrane-Fountain City (24-2) in a Division 5 sectional semifinal at Neillsville on Thursday.

Ben Ross led Alma Center Lincoln (20-7) with 12 points.
